Failure does not have to be the final chapter.
Peter knew Jesus, loved Jesus, and still failed Him in a moment of fear. His denial was real, his sorrow was real, and the consequences of sin were not minimized. But neither was the restoring grace of Christ.
After the resurrection, Jesus met Peter again. He did not pretend the failure never happened. He brought Peter back to the heart of discipleship—love for Christ, obedience to Christ, and a renewed call to follow Him.
The Gospel does not teach us to excuse sin. It teaches us that repentance and grace meet at Jesus Christ. A believer can fall without being finished, because Christ is able to restore, strengthen, and use a surrendered life again.
