Lyrics

**Verse 1** Many find their days filled with tears— Some—for many years— Ohhhh that—it wouldn’t be so— Ohhhh that—all could truly know. There is no place He can’t go—no place He cannot find— To bring peace—to your spirit and mind— There is no valley too deep— That He—-no matter how far or deep—that you—-He cannot keep. **Chorus** So today—I won’t try to say— You shouldn’t feel that way— I won’t say to you— Your hurt and pain—you should try to get through. All I want you to know— Is there’s no place He won’t go— There’s absolutely no time or anywhere, That Jesus doesn’t care or hear your prayer— All I want you to know— Is that Jesus—Jesus does care—ohhhh—He cares for you so! **Verse 2** For some—it’s a loss in death— For so long—you haven’t found your breath— It doesn’t matter why— Sometimes—just life can make us cry. From such hurt, loss or pain— It doesn’t matter why—sometimes we just feel—life—we will never regain. But especially for you— Not me—but what He says—it is true— To the broken hearted—he does run— And in Him—in Him alone— All our sorrows and pain—will one day be done! **Chorus** So today—I won’t try to say— You shouldn’t feel that way— I won’t say to you— Your hurt and pain—you should try to get through. All I want you to know— Is there’s no place He won’t go— There’s absolutely no time or anywhere, That Jesus doesn’t care or hear your prayer— And all I need you to know— Is that Jesus—Jesus does care—He cares for you so! **Bridge** Today—you should hear— He will one day—wipe away every tear. But—until then—all the way from Calvary— He died to give us victory— I can’t answer for you—all the questions or the why—and I won’t even try— But what I can say—is He hears every prayer and cry— **Tag** In Jesus—we can have victory— For He died for you and me— And if we feel a certain way— He didn’t bring us this far—to let us stay. Soooooo—listen my friend—- He watches over us without a doubt— Trust in Jesus—and tell the Devil—he can’t steal your joy— Tell the Devil—“HE’S GOT TO GET OUT!” **Tag** Ohhhh—Death is swallowed up in victory— Ohhhh—Death, where is your sting? Ohhhh—Grave, where is your—victory? In death and in life—Satan—you can’t have me— For in my Jesus—I have sweet victory! Ohhhh—Jesus today—I claim—Your sweet victory—-

No Valley Too Deep

Read together: Job 2:11–13; Romans 12:15; Isaiah 53:3–4; John 11:32–36; 1 Corinthians 15:54–57

When someone is grieving, many of us rush to say something helpful. "Everything happens for a reason." "They're in a better place." "You need to move on." Even when those words contain truth, they can land like stones on a broken heart.

This song refuses to do that. Its chorus is one of the gentlest in this collection: Today I won't try to say you shouldn't feel that way. I won't say to you your hurt and pain you should try to get through. All I want you to know is there's no place He won't go.

That is wise. Read Job 2:11–13. When Job lost his children, his wealth, and his health, three friends came to comfort him. When they saw him, they wept aloud, tore their robes, and sat with him on the ground for seven days and nights without saying a word, "because they saw that his suffering was very great." Their silence was the best thing they did. It was when they started explaining his suffering that they went wrong.

Read Romans 12:15. "Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep." Sometimes the most Christlike thing is not to fix someone's pain, but to share it.

The second verse names some of the reasons for tears: a death, a loss that has taken your breath for a long time, or simply life can make us cry. It does not matter why. Grief and sorrow are real, and they do not have to be justified to be valid.

And here is the comfort: Jesus knows. Read Isaiah 53:3–4. The Servant was "a man of sorrows, acquainted with grief… Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows." Jesus is not a Savior who stands at a distance from pain. Read John 11:32–36. When Mary fell at His feet weeping over her brother Lazarus, Jesus was deeply moved and troubled. And then, in the shortest verse in the Bible, "Jesus wept." He knew He was about to raise Lazarus. He wept anyway. He enters our sorrow before He ends it.

That is why the song can say, there is no valley too deep that He cannot keep. No grief is too heavy for Him to carry with you. No darkness is beyond His reach.

The bridge offers hope without forcing it. He will one day wipe away every tear. But until then, all the way from Calvary, He died to give us victory. I can't answer for you all the questions or the why—and I won't even try. That is honest faith. We do not have every answer. We have a Savior.

The tag turns defiant: tell the devil he can't steal your joy. And it borrows Paul's great taunt over death. Read 1 Corinthians 15:54–57. "Death is swallowed up in victory. Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?" The enemy may bring sorrow, but he does not get the final word. Jesus does.

If you are in a deep valley right now, you do not need to pretend you are fine. You can bring your tears to Jesus exactly as they are. And if your sorrow has lingered so long that you can hardly function, please reach out to a pastor, a counselor, or a doctor. Getting help is not a lack of faith.

A moment to respond: If you are grieving, read John 11:32–36 and let it sink in that Jesus weeps with you. Tell Him honestly how you feel. If someone you know is grieving, resist the urge to explain. Simply sit with them, listen, and pray for them this week.

Let's pray: Lord Jesus, You are a man of sorrows, acquainted with grief. You wept at Lazarus' tomb, and You see every tear we cry. Go into the deepest valley with the one who is hurting today. We don't have all the answers, but we have You. Thank You for the victory You won at Calvary, and for the day You will wipe away every tear. Amen.

Our desire at UnrelentingJesus is that you would know there is no valley too deep for Jesus to go with you—and that He cares for you so.
