Lyrics

**Verse 1** If I’m honest—if I tell you how I feel— Sometimes I pray—the same old worn‑out prayer—I’ve been praying for years— Sometimes it feels like—I’m stuck—trying to climb—the same old hill. Hope dripping through my fingers—right along with my tears I’ve been fightin the same old fears—for what must be years. Every “not yet”—always feels like—a “never”—at least to me— But then in the silence—when the world seems to coming after me— Jesus comes alongside—wraps me with His nail-scarred hands— And then I think—of Mount Calvary. **Pre‑Chorus 1** I always thought—the dark was where mercy ends But now I know—there is no darkness—only where light can’t get in— Every valley road—every dark corner my heart goes round— Where in Your caring hands—I can be found. **Chorus** Oh my LORD—even here, You are good— Even if I’m breaking, Even in the waiting—When I feel misunderstood When I can’t see what You’re doing I will trust the only heart that’s proven On the cross, and from the grave— You always save— Jesus, even here, You are good! **Verse 2** I’ve been standing on promises I can’t always feel My heart full of questions—looking to answers You can reveal. My every failure—is forgiven from holy ground All my ruins—all my failed plans, Oh my Lord—that’s where Your glory is found **Pre‑Chorus 2** I thought my doubt would make You turn away But at every turn—you are there—all along my way. **Bridge** Lord—you write mercy in the margins of my story You put windows in my walls—so I can see Your glory I don’t know the ending of it all— But I know this—I know who does—and who I can call— Tag on bridge: So I will sing, I will sing, ‘cause You are good I will sing, I will sing, even here You’re so good **Short tag chorus** Even here, right where I am—You are good In the storms I’m walking through You are so good—And Your love is true. Every mile, every falling tear Through it all—You hold me near Jesus, even here, where I am—You are good—You are so good.

Lord Even Here You Are Good

Have you ever said the same prayer so many times that you wondered whether you had anything left to say? Perhaps your circumstances haven't changed, the grief is still there, or a promise you hoped would be fulfilled by now seems farther away than ever. You want to tell God He is good, but you don't want to pretend this season is easy.

That tension is not foreign to Scripture. Read Habakkuk 1:1–4. The prophet looked at violence and injustice and cried out, “O LORD, how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear!” (KJV). He brought his confusion directly to God. The book doesn't begin with a man who has all the answers. It begins with a man who refuses to stop speaking to the Lord, even when he cannot understand what is happening.

As the conversation continues, Habakkuk learns that God's ways will not fit neatly into his expectations. He still must live by faith. At the end of the book, he speaks of a fig tree that may not blossom, fields that may yield no food, and flocks that may disappear. Then he says, “Yet I will rejoice in the LORD” (Habakkuk 3:18, KJV).

That little word yet matters. It does not mean the harvest suddenly arrived. It means the prophet's confidence rested in God even when the visible circumstances offered no reassurance. This is not shallow optimism. It is worship that has walked through questions and found that the Lord remains worthy.

Maybe you are in a place where you can only whisper, “Lord, even here?” Even here, in the waiting room? Even here, after the loss? Even here, when the answer is still no? The Bible gives you permission to ask the question and invites you to keep bringing it to God. Jesus Himself prayed in Gethsemane with deep anguish, submitting to the Father's will without pretending the cup before Him was painless.

Would you be willing to read all three chapters of Habakkuk over the next few days? Write down the questions you are afraid to say aloud. Then write down what Scripture reveals about God's character, even if your circumstances have not changed. You may not feel triumphant. You may still cry. But faith can begin with the decision to bring those tears into His presence.

If you're overwhelmed, let a trusted pastor, friend, or family member walk beside you. You do not have to carry grief in isolation. God's people are called to bear one another's burdens, not demand that suffering believers sound cheerful.

Our desire at UnrelentingJesus is that you discover a deeper kind of hope: not confidence that every day will be comfortable, but confidence that the Lord remains faithful. We will be praying for you in the places where praise is costly.

Let's pray. Lord, we bring You the questions we cannot answer and the burdens we cannot resolve. Teach us to trust Your character when we cannot trace Your hand. Give comfort to those who grieve, endurance to those who wait, and companions to those who feel alone. Help us say, even here, You are worthy. Through Jesus Christ, amen.
