Is the Cross Really Enough?

Jesus said, “It is finished.” The question is whether we really believe Him — especially when guilt returns, when we fail, or when we are tempted to add something to grace.

The message

Jesus finished what we could never finish.

The Cross tells us how serious sin is — and how completely Jesus acted to save sinners. Good works, obedience, church, serving and ministry matter, but they are the fruit of salvation, not the price of it.

Jesus was not simply the victim of a terrible execution. No one took His life from Him; He laid it down willingly. The nails did not keep Him on the Cross. Love did.

When we fail, Jesus does not go back to Calvary. Failure may call for confession, repentance and making things right, but it does not require another Savior. There is only one thing we can bring to the Cross: our need.
