Lyrics

**Verse 1** What is a Savior—ohhhh—what is a Savior to you? If you’re a believer—He saves us from our sin—ohhhh—that is so true! But after a life becomes new— Many then ask, “What would Jesus Do?” But my friend—if it’s guidance you need —to know what to do— You might want to ask—“What did Jesus already do—What did Jesus already do—for you.” **Chorus** Jesus—Jesus—already did it all. He did it all—when He answered—the Father’s call. Just look and see what He did— When you see what he did— It makes it real, when you see the cost Of what He did—to save the lost. **Verse 2** Many years ago—under a different sacrifice— Over and over again—there was a blood sacrifice—but now—for us all—it could not suffice. The goats, heifers and lambs—day out and day in— None of them could now—cover our sin— But then—oh that’s when— GOD SENT HIS SON—the forever sacrifice—to pay the price—for all our sin! **Chorus** Jesus—Jesus—already did it all. He did it all—when He answered—the Father’s call. Just look and see what He did— When you see what he did— It makes it real, when you see the cost Of what He did—to save the lost. **Bridge** No greater love has there ever been— Than to give up His life for our sin— Jesus did it all—for everyone— Ohhhh—for you and me— JESUS went to Calvary— Willingly—nailed to a cross! Then when He died for our sin— They put Him in a tomb that belonged to a friend— But death—couldn’t hold him in— **Tag** GODS POWER does save— Jesus defeated death and the grave—Death has no more sting— Jesus now reigns supreme— Oh let every believer—His praises sing! Oh let us serve the risen Savior— All who believe— He came to save one and all— This is all true— Accept Jesus today— he’s waiting—on you!

Jesus Already Did It All

Read together: Hebrews 10:1–14; Hebrews 9:11–14; John 19:38–42; Ephesians 5:1–2; 1 John 3:16

A few years ago, bracelets with four letters were everywhere: WWJD—"What Would Jesus Do?" It is a good question. But this song suggests a better place to start: What did Jesus already do for you?

That shift matters. If we begin with "What would Jesus do?" we can turn the Christian life into a moral exam—trying to imitate a perfect example and constantly falling short. But if we begin with "What did Jesus already do?" we start with grace. We look at the cross, see the cost of our salvation, and let gratitude shape everything else.

The second verse reaches back into the Old Testament. Under the old covenant, priests offered sacrifices over and over again—goats, heifers, and lambs, day in and day out. Read Hebrews 10:1–14. The writer explains that those sacrifices could never take away sins. If they could, they would have stopped being offered. Instead, they served as a yearly reminder of sin. "It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins." But Jesus came, and "by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified." Notice the contrast: the priests stood day after day; Christ, after offering one sacrifice for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of God. His work was finished.

Read Hebrews 9:11–14. Christ entered the Most Holy Place not by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood, "having obtained eternal redemption." If the old sacrifices made people outwardly clean, how much more will the blood of Christ cleanse our consciences from dead works to serve the living God? That is the heart of the chorus: Jesus already did it all.

The bridge includes a small detail many people overlook: They put Him in a tomb that belonged to a friend. Read John 19:38–42. Joseph of Arimathea, a secret disciple who had been afraid to follow Jesus openly, asked Pilate for the body. Nicodemus, who had once come to Jesus by night, brought spices. Two fearful men found courage at the cross. They gave Jesus their best, and they laid Him in Joseph's new tomb. But death could not hold Him there.

So how does "what Jesus already did" guide the way we live? Read Ephesians 5:1–2. "Be imitators of God, as beloved children, and walk in love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us." Our obedience flows from His sacrifice. And 1 John 3:16 puts it plainly: "This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down His life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers." When you need to know what to do, look first at what He did. Then let His love move you to forgive, to serve, to give, and to sacrifice for others.

If you have been trying to earn God's favor by doing enough, hear this song's good news. You cannot add to what Jesus finished. You can only receive it. And if you have never trusted Him, the song's tag says it simply: Accept Jesus today—He's waiting on you.

A moment to respond: Read Hebrews 10:11–14. Then write two sentences: "Because Jesus already did ___ for me, today I will ___." Let the first half shape the second. Choose one act of love this week that grows out of gratitude, not obligation.

Let's pray: Lord Jesus, You already did it all. Thank You for offering Yourself once for all, a sacrifice no animal could match. Thank You for finishing the work and sitting down at the Father's right hand. Free us from trying to earn what You have already given. Let what You did for us shape everything we do for others. Amen.

Our desire at UnrelentingJesus is that you would rest in what Jesus already did—and let His finished work guide every step you take.
