Lyrics

**Verse 1** Have you ever thought—about the price Jesus paid—when on Calvary—He paid the price we owed—for our sins—and the price for our soul—He bought. Can you imagine—the price—if paid today— Would Jesus still pay—what He would have to pay—today? **Verse 2** Think of all the people—oh so much more—than before— All around the world—billions and billions—from every shore to shore. What if today—even Jesus had to pay such a price— Dying on a cross—ohhh—a perfect sacrifice. **Chorus** Ohhhhh—Jesus!! Jesus would come!! Jesus would do it all again! For nothing has changed—that a man would lose his own soul—just for the world to gain. Ohhhhh—but listen—what’s much more than all of that—and without any doubt— Jesus already paid it all—He already paid—all that needed to be paid! **Verse 3** And by acceptance—of His Grace—by anyone and all—we are forever saved— Oh—the payment for salvation is paid for you and me—paid all the way back—on Mount Calvary—ohhhh—and Jesus has already bought our eternity! **Verse 4** Freed from bondage—and breaking every chain— There’s no need for Jesus to die again! Ohhhh—but if the job hadn’t been done— Never forgiven—or saved from the price of our sins— Ohhhhh—my Jesus!! My Jesus would come—and do it all again! **Chorus** Oh my friends—today or back then— We could never afford—the price for our sin. But it’s a price—Jesus has already paid—Our sins are forgiven—and we’re forever saved! He freed us from bondage—breaking every chain— And there’s no need for Jesus to die again! Ohhhhh—-it is finished—every victory has been won— Won by our Savior—God’s own Son! **Bridge** Ohhhhh—the thought—is too great to understand— How Jesus paid our cost—by His innocent hand. When yesterday—I was chief among sinners and all men— Soooo—I cannot stay silent—about how a new life He gives us all—to begin! **Tag** But this much I know— If I don’t tell all about Jesus—as I go— His story will still be told everywhere and all about— For God’s word promises—that if mere men— Try to hold it all in— Ohhhhh—every rock will cry out! Ohhhhh—they and all creation will cry out—Jesus paid it all—all that needed to be paid—and by His grace—men, women, boys and girls—can still be saved!

Jesus Would Die Again

Read together: Mark 8:34–38; Romans 6:8–10; Hebrews 9:24–28; 1 Timothy 1:12–17; Luke 19:37–40

Here is a question you may never have considered: If Jesus were to come today instead of two thousand years ago, would He still pay the price? The world has billions more people now. Sin has not slowed down. Would He still go to the cross?

This song answers with conviction: Jesus would come! Jesus would do it all again! Nothing about His love has changed. And then the song gives an even better answer: He already paid it all. There is no need for Jesus to die again.

Both truths matter. The first tells us about the heart of Jesus. His love is not worn out by the size of the world or the depth of its sin. The second tells us about the work of Jesus. His sacrifice was so complete that it never needs to be repeated.

Read Romans 6:8–10. "We know that since Christ was raised from the dead, He cannot die again; death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death He died, He died to sin once for all, but the life He lives, He lives to God." Christ's death is not an ongoing event. It happened once, it was enough, and now He lives forever.

Read Hebrews 9:24–28. Christ did not enter heaven "to offer Himself again and again," like the high priest who entered the Most Holy Place every year. If that were necessary, He would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world. "But now He has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of Himself." One sacrifice. Sufficient for every person in every generation, including those billions alive today.

The chorus also quotes Jesus' own warning. Read Mark 8:34–38. "What does it profit a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?" The world has changed in countless ways since Jesus said that. Technology, wealth, and entertainment are beyond anything the first disciples could imagine. But the question is the same. Nothing the world offers can buy back a soul. Only Jesus could pay that price, and He has.

The bridge turns personal: Yesterday I was chief among sinners and all men. That phrase comes from 1 Timothy 1:12–17. Paul, who once persecuted the church, called himself the foremost of sinners. "But for this very reason I was shown mercy, so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display His perfect patience as an example for those who would believe in Him." If Christ's sacrifice was enough for Paul, it is enough for you.

The tag closes with a line drawn from Palm Sunday. Read Luke 19:37–40. When the Pharisees told Jesus to quiet His disciples, He said, "If they keep quiet, the stones will cry out." The song draws the lesson: If I don't tell all about Jesus as I go, His story will still be told. God's message will go forward. The only question is whether we will have the joy of being part of it.

If you have never received what Jesus paid for, the payment is already made. You do not have to add anything to it. You only need to accept it by faith.

A moment to respond: Read Hebrews 9:24–28 and thank Jesus specifically that His sacrifice was once for all—enough for you. Then think of one person in today's world who needs to hear that the price is already paid. Pray for an opportunity to tell them.

Let's pray: Lord Jesus, thank You for loving a world this big and this broken. Thank You that You would come again for us—but that You do not need to, because You already paid it all. Death has no more dominion over You. Show mercy to sinners, as You showed it to Paul. Let us not stay silent about what You have done. Amen.

Our desire at UnrelentingJesus is that you would rest in the sacrifice Jesus made once for all—and tell others the price has already been paid.
