When the Lights Go Out

What do you do when you are trying to follow God, but you cannot see what He is doing? Isaiah 50 reminds us that a believer can fear the Lord, obey Him, and still walk through a season where the path is not clear.

The message

You do not have to see the whole road to trust the One who is leading you.

Isaiah speaks to a person who fears the Lord and obeys Him, yet still walks in darkness. That means a season of uncertainty does not automatically mean God has abandoned us or that we are outside His will.

When God has not made the next step clear, faith does not require us to invent our own answer. It calls us to continue in what God has already made clear—to pray, obey His Word, remain faithful, and trust His character while we wait.

The Cross gives us the clearest reason to trust Him. What looked like darkness and defeat on Friday became the place where God accomplished redemption. We may not understand everything God is doing in the moment, but we can know who He is.
