Lyrics

[Verse 1] In the cool of the morning—there is found in Jesus—a sweet and fragrant peace As each day begins—hope rises as the dark gives way to light—in victorious release Every dawn repeating the same story— As all creation displays His truth and glory. [Verse 2] With the rising of the Sun— Jesus remains the only one Who tells darkness it must flee Then every good and perfect thing comes from Him to you and me And after creation having found rest and sleep All Your ways—Jesus all nature, stars and skies—must keep Oh that each and everyone would know— That Your ways are the ways—we all should go. [Chorus] For from You—comes all mercy and grace— And in You—we find strength for our race— So to You—our worship we bring. Oh to You—our praises we sing. Find in us a heart that to You will always bow— Ohhhh—Jesus—You are so worthy of our worship—forever—and right now. [Verse 3] Ohhhh—the Lord is good in every place Ohhhh—the Lord our sins did erase To be found in the Lord— Is the greatest gift we never could afford In all your ways—acknowledge and follow the matchless King Ohhhh—to Jesus—all glory and honor—bring. [Bridge] In the cool of the day—the Lord walks with those those He loves along their way In the darkest night—He is a faithful companion till break of day In every situation— We have the joy of His salvation He hears our prayers each time—when we call And He is Master, Lord and Ruler—over all! [Final Chorus] For from You—comes all mercy and grace— And in You—we find strength for our race— So to You—our worship we bring. Oh to You—our praises we sing. Find in us a heart that to You will always bow— Ohhhh—Jesus—You are so worthy of our worship—forever—and right now. [Tag] Ohhhh—Find in us a heart that to You will always bow— Ohhhh—Jesus—You are so worthy of our worship—forever—and right now.

Worthy Of Our Worship

Read together: Genesis 3:8–9; Psalm 113:1–3; Jeremiah 33:25–26; James 1:17; Psalm 59:16–17

There is something about early morning. The world is quiet, the air is cool, and the darkness slowly gives way to light. This song begins there: In the cool of the morning, there is found in Jesus a sweet and fragrant peace. As each day begins, hope rises as the dark gives way to light.

The bridge borrows a phrase from the very beginning of the Bible: In the cool of the day, the Lord walks with those He loves along their way. Read Genesis 3:8–9. After Adam and Eve sinned, they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden "in the cool of the day," and they hid. But God called out, "Where are you?" Even after the fall, God came looking for them. The God who walked with humanity in Eden still seeks to walk with His people. Through Jesus, we no longer have to hide.

The second verse celebrates God's faithfulness in creation: With the rising of the sun, Jesus remains the only One who tells darkness it must flee. Read Psalm 113:1–3. "From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the Lord is to be praised." Every sunrise is an invitation to worship.

The song notices that creation keeps God's ways: All Your ways, Jesus, all nature, stars, and skies must keep. Read Jeremiah 33:25–26. God said, "If I have not established My covenant with day and night and the fixed laws of heaven and earth," then He might reject His people—but He has, and He will not. The faithfulness of sunrise and sunset is a sign of God's covenant faithfulness to His people. The same God who keeps the sun on schedule keeps His promises to us.

Every good and perfect thing comes from Him to you and me. Read James 1:17. "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no change or shifting shadow." The sun moves and its shadows shift. God does not.

The chorus gathers it into worship: From You comes all mercy and grace, and in You we find strength for our race. So to You our worship we bring. And the third verse adds, To be found in the Lord is the greatest gift we never could afford. Everything we have is grace.

The bridge offers comfort for the hard hours: In the darkest night, He is a faithful companion till break of day. Read Psalm 59:16–17. "But I will sing of Your strength and proclaim Your loving devotion in the morning. For You are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble." David wrote that psalm while enemies were watching his house to kill him. He sang of God's love in the morning because God had been his refuge through the night.

The final chorus asks for something simple and profound: Find in us a heart that to You will always bow. Worship is not just an event. It is a posture of the heart.

If you have been hiding from God, as Adam and Eve did, hear His call: "Where are you?" He is not calling to condemn, but to restore. Come to Jesus, and walk with Him again.

A moment to respond: Tomorrow, rise a few minutes early and watch the darkness give way to light. Read Psalm 113:3 and Psalm 59:16. Thank God for one "good and perfect gift" from the past day, and ask Him to give you a heart that always bows to Him.

Let's pray: Lord Jesus, in the cool of the morning we find peace in You. You tell the darkness to flee and the sun to rise. Every good gift comes from You, and You never change. Thank You for walking with us through every dark night until morning. Give us hearts that always bow to You. You are worthy of our worship, forever and right now. Amen.

Our desire at UnrelentingJesus is that every sunrise would remind you of the faithful God who walks with you—and draw your heart to worship Him.
