Lyrics

[Verse 1] When trouble has circled you round When heartache has driven you down When the road ahead is unknown When fear has grown and grown When every fallen tear Flows from overwhelming fear [Chorus] Speak! Speak the name of Jesus into the air! Speak His name with every burden and care. With all your heart, power and might Give it to Jesus to fight your fight Oh speak the name of Jesus into the air— No matter where you are—His grace and mercy—His tender love and care—will meet you there. [Verse 2] When nothing’s left of all you’ve known When health, wealth and power are up and gone When your world is caving in You don’t have a friend After all you’ve done and can do That’s where He’ll be waiting for you When you think you’re finished and done Ohhhhh—put your faith and trust in Jesus alone! [Chorus] Speak! Speak the name of Jesus into the air! Speak His name with every burden and care. With all your heart, power and might Give it to Jesus to fight your fight Oh speak the name of Jesus into the air— No matter where you are—His grace and mercy—His tender love and care—will meet you there. [Bridge] We know one day—every knee shall bow Why do we wonder if Jesus knows how To take away every burden and care Just at the mention of His name—spoken into the air [Tag] Jesus. Jesus. Oh there’s mighty power in His name. Jesus. Jesus. To take away our sin and shame. Cause no other name ever spoken or heard Is filled with the power of God’s word. So come into His presence and stand. Be led by His nail scarred and mighty hand. No matter where you are—His grace and mercy—His tender love and care—will meet you there. No matter where you are—His grace and mercy—His tender love and care—will meet you there.

Speak His Name

Read Mark 10:46–52; Psalm 34:17–18; Hebrews 4:14–16.

Have you ever been so overwhelmed that you couldn't form a proper prayer? Maybe the news came without warning. Maybe the burden has been building for months. You know you need help, but all you can manage is a whisper: Jesus.

Imagine Bartimaeus sitting beside the road near Jericho. He was blind, and the crowd was moving past him. When he heard that Jesus was there, he began to cry out for mercy. People told him to be quiet. He cried out even more. Jesus stopped and called for him (Mark 10:46–52).

Think about that for a moment. A crowd was moving, voices were competing, and yet Jesus stopped for one man who refused to be silenced. Bartimaeus didn't have a carefully prepared speech. He knew his need, and he knew whom to call upon.

Does that sound familiar? Sometimes people around us do not understand why we're struggling. They may offer easy answers or expect us to be stronger than we feel. The Lord does not need us to disguise our desperation. Psalm 34:18 says He is near to the brokenhearted. And Hebrews 4:16 invites believers to approach God's throne of grace for mercy and help in time of need.

Calling on Jesus is not a magic phrase that guarantees every circumstance will immediately change. It is turning toward a living Savior who hears, who understands suffering, and who has authority to forgive and save. His care is real even when His answer takes a different shape than we expected.

Here's some help for today. Read Mark 10:46–52 aloud. Notice what Bartimaeus asked for, what Jesus said, and how the man's life moved in a new direction. Then take a few quiet minutes to tell Jesus exactly what is troubling you. If you can only begin with His name, begin there.

Would you be willing to bring Him the burden you've been carrying alone? And if someone you know is struggling to pray, consider sitting with them, listening without rushing, and praying alongside them.

Our desire at UnrelentingJesus is that the hurting, the weary, and those who feel overlooked will know they can come to Jesus. We will be praying for you.

Let's pray. Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on us. You know the burdens we cannot explain and the fears we are reluctant to admit. Draw near to the hurting, strengthen the weary, forgive our sin, and teach us to trust You with what comes next. Amen.
