He Saw It All
Read: Luke 23:32–43; Romans 5:6–11; Revelation 21:1–5
Have you ever wondered what someone would think if they knew everything about you? Not just the good things people see, but the thoughts you wish you hadn't entertained, the words you can't take back, and the moments you would erase if you could. Many of us have learned to hide the parts of our story that make us ashamed.
Can you imagine standing near the cross of Jesus, hearing the voices around Him? Some mocked. Some watched. Some grieved. Two criminals were crucified beside Him. One joined the insults; the other admitted his own guilt and turned toward Jesus with a simple plea: “Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom” (Luke 23:42, KJV).
Read Luke 23:32–43. The man had no time to build an impressive religious record. He couldn't undo his crimes or step down from the cross to start over. He could only acknowledge the truth and appeal to the King beside him. Jesus answered with a promise of paradise.
Perhaps your question isn't whether Jesus knows what you've done. Perhaps it's whether He could love you knowing it. Romans 5:8 answers that fear with astonishing clarity: God commended His love toward us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. His love is not based on a mistaken impression that we are innocent. His sacrifice addresses the very sin we cannot hide.
And yet the cross is not only about yesterday's guilt. Maybe you look at today's world and wonder whether cruelty, division, and loss will have the final word. Scripture doesn't ask us to deny the darkness. It asks us to look beyond it to the risen Christ. Read Revelation 21:1–5. God promises a day when death, sorrow, crying, and pain will be no more. That hope rests in His promise, not in our ability to predict how tomorrow will unfold.
Here's something practical. Name the burden you've been hiding. Bring it honestly to the Lord. If you need to confess sin, do so without excuses. If you need to seek forgiveness from someone you've wronged, take a responsible step toward that conversation. If fear about the future is keeping you awake, read Revelation 21 slowly and ask God to anchor you in what He has promised.
Would you be willing to believe that being fully known by Jesus does not put you beyond the reach of His mercy? He is not indifferent to sin, but He is mighty to save those who turn to Him.
Our desire at UnrelentingJesus is that the person who feels exposed, forgotten, or frightened will discover a Savior who knows the truth, offers forgiveness, and holds the future.
Let's pray. Lord Jesus, You know us completely. Nothing is hidden from You, and still You went to the cross for sinners. Give us courage to confess, faith to receive Your mercy, and hope when the world feels beyond repair. Comfort those carrying shame or fear today. Draw them close to Yourself, and teach us to live in the light of Your resurrection and promised return. Amen.
