Lyrics

**Verse 1** Have you ever prayed right— Prayed right on through the night— Have you ever bowed down— Felt His presence all around— Have you ever been humbled by such mercy—coming from the Lord— Ohhh—great is the mercy—God does afford! But—have you also burned faith’s candle at both ends— Waiting for answers— It seems—God sometimes never sends— Then—hearing nothing but silence— In the silence—questioned God in your heart—why— oh God—tell me why! **Verse 2** But then —in the silence—peace still floats in—whispering—Jesus is still— Ohhh—Jesus is still—on His throne—And He never leaves us—in our questions alone— Because Jesus is still— still all about—His Father’s will— And His peace—oh it chases away the doubt— And that my friend— Is what prayer—is all about. **Chorus** Ohhhh—You’re still God—in the silence You’re still good in the waiting On the dark paths—You light them up—From my obedience— with Your love and radiance— So, even if my heart is breaking— Even if my soul you are taking— Oh Lord—help me to be faithful in the night— To hang on—till the break of light— For You are still God in the silence— And You’re still good—in the waiting. **Verse 3** I’ve asked for doors to open wide I’ve asked for Jesus to stay by my side— I’ve cried out for a miracle—believing God can do— what needs to be done— And wrestled through the night— Wondering if with me—God was through! **Verse 4** Ohhhh—in the silence—Jesus speaks so clear— When we listen—when we listen to hear— Hear Him whispering as we humbly bow And ohhhh—how His mercy will flow—so we can clearly know— That only rests in Jesus—and to us He will incline— And He whispers to all—who pray according to His will—“I hear you—because You are mine!” **Chorus** Ohhhh—You’re still God—in the silence You’re still good in the waiting On the dark paths—You light them up—From my obedience— with Your love and radiance— So, even if my heart is breaking— Even if my soul you are taking— Oh Lord—help me to be faithful in the night— To hang on—till the break of light— For You are still God in the silence— And You’re still good—in the waiting. **Bridge** Ohhhh my Jesus!!! If You don’t move the mountain— You are still with me on the climb And if You don’t part the troubled waters You’ll hold me up—over the rolling tide And if You don’t give an answer—as I’m waiting to hear— I know You still hear—cause You are right here—right by my side! Soooo—I’ll trust You in the pain— For you have delivered me time and time again— And you’ve never forgotten or lost a single prayer— Ohhhh—my Jesus—how for a sinner like me—You do so richly care!! **Tag** Still God in the silence Still good in the waiting Still worthy of my worship Still my Jesus, still my King Oh let the praise of Jesus—forever—and forever—let the glory and praise of Jesus—forever—RING!!!!

You’re Still God In The Silence

Read together: Psalm 13; Habakkuk 1:2; Habakkuk 3:17–19; Isaiah 43:1–3; 1 John 5:14–15

Have you ever prayed until the words ran out? You asked, waited, and asked again, and heard nothing. No sudden answer, no open door, no sign that anything had changed. Just silence, and a question you were almost afraid to say out loud: God, why?

If that is where you are, the Bible does not ask you to hide the question. Read Psalm 13. David asks "How long?" four times in the first two verses. He feels forgotten. He feels as though God's face is turned away. Those words are in Scripture not as a warning against honest prayer but as an example of it. And notice where the psalm ends. Nothing in David's circumstances has visibly changed, yet by verse 5 he is speaking of trust in God's steadfast love and rejoicing in His salvation.

This song lives in that same space. It does not pretend silence is easy. It admits to burning faith's candle at both ends, to wrestling through the night and wondering whether God was through with us. Then it turns. Not because an answer arrived, but because of who God is: still on His throne, still good in the waiting.

Habakkuk learned the same thing. He opened his book by asking how long he must cry for help while God did not seem to listen (Habakkuk 1:2). By the end, he could say that even if the fig tree did not blossom and the fields produced no food, he would rejoice in the God of his salvation (Habakkuk 3:17–18). His joy did not depend on the harvest. It rested on the Lord Himself.

That is the heart of the bridge: if You don't move the mountain, You are still with me on the climb. Scripture does not promise that God will remove every hardship we ask Him to remove. Isaiah 43:2 does not say God's people will never pass through deep waters; it says that when they do, He will be with them. Some prayers are answered with deliverance. Others are answered with His presence and the strength to endure. Either way, those who belong to Him are not abandoned.

Please hear this too: silence is not proof that God has rejected you, and it is not always a sign that you have done something wrong. First John 5:14–15 assures believers that God hears when we ask according to His will. That frees us to bring our requests honestly while trusting Him with the answer He knows is best. And if you have never trusted Jesus, the way to God is not closed to you. Christ died for sinners and rose again so that we could be brought near. You can come to Him today, just as you are.

A moment to respond: Read Psalm 13 slowly, perhaps aloud. Then write down your own "How long?"—the prayer you have carried the longest. Beneath it, write one way God has been faithful to you before. Bring both to Him. And if the night has gone on too long, let a pastor, a trusted believer, or a friend wait with you. You were not meant to keep this vigil alone.

Let's pray: Lord Jesus, You know the prayers we have prayed through the night and the questions we have been afraid to ask. Thank You that You do not turn away from honest hearts. Where we feel forgotten, remind us that You are near. Where we are waiting, give us strength to stay faithful until the morning comes. If You do not move the mountain, walk with us on the climb. We trust You with the answer, and we worship You still. Amen.

Our desire at UnrelentingJesus is that no one would mistake God's silence for His absence. He is still God in the silence, and He is still good in the waiting.
