Lyrics

**Verse 1** The gospel of Jesus Christ— We dare not change— That gospel is not— For anyone to rearrange. But some these days— Say the gospel message— That’s—old fashioned ways— Even some believers—say—just do— What feels right to you— But what—the Bible says is still so— Broad is the way—many—will go Ohhh—believer—look at the road you’re on The gospel road—it’s still a narrow one— And Jesus—today—is still the only way!! **Chorus** Ohhh—the gospel—it’s a narrow path— it doesn’t chase—every whim, The gospel—still is—has always been— Just about him—about Jesus—now risen after being crucified— Savior and Lord—forever be glorified! **Verse 2** There’s no other message—on which all mankind—can depend— There is no other Savior—who died—and rose again! Only those who believe—in Jesus—can make this claim— No other God—nothing you can chase— will all your sins—forgive and erase. Only Jesus—only He can still save— And you—He will still save—when you just call His name! **Chorus** Ohhh—the gospel—it’s a narrow path— it doesn’t chase—every whim, The gospel—still is—has always been— Just about him—about Jesus—now risen after being crucified— Savior and Lord—forever be glorified! **Verse 3** If you say—you believe—do you really still believe?? Or have you lost your first love? Do you still trust—in God above? If that’s a question—that might be for you— When’s the last time—you told someone— About Jesus—that His mercy and love— Are still true! **Bridge** Ohhhh—it’s still God’s perfect plan— To save every child, woman and man— If you aren’t livin—how you know to live— You still have a Savior—that will forgive— And if you doubt—not sure anymore—what you believe— That’s ok—He’ll help you figure it out— Tell somebody what Jesus is about— His word never returns void— Speak Jesus! And when Hell— you help them avoid— While time is short—Salvation they receive, Then even you—will know—what you— still believe! **Tag** Ohhhh—weary sinner—come to Jesus—trust in Him—alone! Ohhhh—weary believer—God is still on the throne! There’s a world of people—still lost—still the gospel message need to know— Ohhh—my friend and believer—His word and His love—they are still true— Won’t you still tell—Won’t you just go? Tell the world—Jesus still loves us— Ohhhh—He loves us so!!

The Gospel We Dare Not Change

A Message Too Precious to Rewrite

Imagine receiving a letter that contains the one piece of news you have desperately needed. The words tell you that a debt you could never repay has been paid in full. Your name is on the letter. The offer is real. Would you want the messenger to improve the news by changing its meaning? Or would you want the message delivered faithfully, exactly as it was intended?

The gospel is far greater than any earthly letter. It tells us that our sin is real, that we cannot rescue ourselves, and that Jesus Christ died for our sins and rose again. It is not advice for people who need a little improvement. It is good news for people who need a Savior.

Paul reminded the Corinthians of the message he had received and passed on: Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, He was buried, and He was raised on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3–4). The center of Christianity is not a slogan, a cultural preference, or a personality. It is the crucified and risen Lord Jesus. If we remove His cross, His resurrection, or the need for repentance and faith, we have not made the gospel more welcoming. We have emptied it of the very hope it offers.

Yet there is another danger. We can speak about guarding the truth in a way that makes people feel they are being guarded against. We may win an argument and leave a wounded person wondering whether anyone cares about their soul. Ephesians 4:15 calls believers to speak the truth in love. Truth without love can become a weapon in our hands. Love without truth can leave a person without the answer they most need. Jesus never had to choose between them.

Think of the father in Luke 15 who watched for his wandering son. He did not pretend the son's rebellion was harmless. Neither did he greet the returning boy with a speech about how hopeless he had become. He ran to meet him. That picture of mercy should shape the way we speak to people who have wandered, doubted, or failed. The invitation to come home is not an invitation to remain unchanged; it is an invitation to receive grace and begin again.

Maybe you are the person who has been drifting. Once you spoke freely about Jesus, but now you avoid the subject. Perhaps disappointment has made you cautious. Perhaps someone who claimed to represent Christ hurt you deeply. Or perhaps your own failures have made you wonder whether you have any right to speak of His goodness. Start not with your ability to explain everything, but with the Savior Himself. Return to the Scriptures. Tell Him where you are uncertain. Ask Him to renew your love for the truth.

If you have never trusted Christ, you do not need to master a theological vocabulary before coming to Him. You need to recognize your need and turn to the One who died and rose again. Acts 4:12 points us to Jesus as the One in whom salvation is found. The message is exclusive in its Savior, but the invitation is wide: whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16).

At UnrelentingJesus, our desire is not simply to defend correct words on a page. It is to see people meet the living Christ those words proclaim. The world does not need a gospel reshaped to match every passing preference. It needs believers who will share the true gospel with patience, courage, humility, and tears when tears are called for.

Think of one person you know who needs hope. You may not have every answer to their questions. You can listen. You can tell them what Jesus has done. You can invite them to read the Gospels with you. You can pray. Faithfulness does not require a polished speech; it requires a willingness to point beyond yourself to Christ.

The message has not lost its power. Jesus still saves. And the gospel we dare not change is the gospel we must never be ashamed to share.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, forgive us when we have softened Your truth to gain approval or spoken it without Your compassion. Renew our confidence in Your cross and resurrection. Draw those who have wandered back to You. Give us courage to speak, wisdom to listen, and love that makes Your invitation clear. Amen.
