Lyrics

**Verse 1** Have you ever opened a window— Just to let—fresh air in— Have you ever watched the rain— Hoping the peace—wouldn’t end Have you ever woke the sun up—and watched as it opened its eyes—peeking over the horizon— Casting glorious light—across God’s skies— **Chorus** Ohhhh—the simple things—still pull me in— Not the things made or done—by mere mortal men— But ohhhh—what God does—that I can watch—again and again— Is when—God saves the souls of women, children, and men. **Verse 2** Ohhh—today—some think anything is possible—from all of men’s power—that nothing can’t be done— But only God can do the impossible— I know this is still true— Because He does the impossible—when He loves and forgives anyone—even someone—like me and you. **Bridge** Sooooo—have you ever smelled the power— Of Gardenias in full flower— Have you ever seen a rose—wilted and faded—lying on the ground— But to those—that linger— Its fragrance still fills the air—all around. And that’s us when we fall—once fragrant and new— God with us—He is not through— And when forgiven—He puts us back on the vine—and like a bud—He starts all over again—ohhhh—He again—makes us fragrant and new. **Pre-Chorus** Soooo—will you tell me—if you ever saw the reflection— of God’s creation— stretched all across the water— from shore to shore— And dreamed about Heaven— And what God for all of us—He has in store! **Verse 4** Or have you ever watched as a new life—comes into view— Have you ever had to say goodbye—after someone you loved—heard that all has been done—that anyone could do? Listen, I only know about me— I don’t know about you— But as for me and my house—and what we afford— We serve the Lord— For His promises and His word—are still true. **Pre-Chorus** Ohhhh—God knows the struggle of our lives—And His love—He always works for His love to reveal— So for us—for all and everyone—He still holds the power—to save and heal! **Final Chorus** Ohhhh—it’s the simple things—that still pull me in— It’s not the things made or done—by mere mortal men— But ohhhh—what God does—that I can watch—again and again— The most blessed of all—is when—God saves the souls of women, children, and men. **Tag** Ohhhh—weary one—won’t you let Jesus in— His plan of salvation—is the most simple thing of all—Ohhh—-listen for His call— He’s just the only way— Won’t you bow before Him today— Ask for His forgiveness—and His mercy and Grace will fall on you— And He—He will carry you—all the rest of your way.

It’s The Simple Things

Have you ever opened a window just to feel the breeze? Sat quietly while rain moved across the roof? Watched the first light come through the trees and realized that, for a few minutes, you didn't need anything else? We can spend so much of our lives chasing the next big thing that we miss the gifts God has already placed within reach.

Some seasons are too painful for grand celebrations. You may not have the energy to plan a vacation, attend a gathering, or even explain to somebody why you're tired. When life feels that way, a small mercy can become a place to begin again. A warm meal. A friend's message. A quiet morning. The ability to take another breath. None of those things fixes everything, but each can remind us that the Lord has not stopped caring for His creation.

Jesus once told His disciples to consider the birds of the air and the lilies of the field. Read Matthew 6:25–34. He wasn't pretending food, clothing, or tomorrow's responsibilities were imaginary. He knew that people worry about real needs. His invitation was to look at ordinary creation and remember the extraordinary faithfulness of the Father who made it. If He feeds the birds and clothes the grass, you can bring your needs to Him without believing you must carry the whole future alone.

Perhaps the simplest thing you can do today is to stop for five minutes. Put the phone down. Step outside if you can. Notice one detail of God's world you would ordinarily pass without seeing. Then thank Him for it. Gratitude isn't a denial of hardship. It's a way of refusing to let hardship become the only thing we can see.

And if your heart is too heavy to feel grateful right now, please don't turn this into another reason to judge yourself. The Psalms include tears, questions, frustration, and waiting. Psalm 34:18 tells us that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted. He isn't waiting for you to manufacture a cheerful mood before you come to Him.

Would you be willing to read Matthew 6 slowly today, perhaps aloud? Notice how often Jesus directs our attention away from frantic striving and toward the Father. Tell Him the one thing that has been occupying your mind. Ask for enough grace for this day, not an imaginary strength for every day that may come.

Our desire at UnrelentingJesus is that you recognize God's kindness not only in the extraordinary moments but in the quiet gifts you might otherwise overlook. We will be praying for you as you learn to notice His care, one day at a time.

Let's pray. Father, forgive us when worry closes our eyes to Your kindness. Thank You for ordinary mercies, for the beauty of Your creation, and for Your presence when our hearts are troubled. Provide what is needed today. Give rest to those who are weary and teach us to trust You with tomorrow. In Jesus' name, amen.
