Lyrics

[Verse 1] Out into the darkness—no planets, no stars—no Milky Way— God and God alone—no horizon—no light of day. God was all there was—there was no more— God was everywhere and everything—forevermore. Then God spoke—and the first of anything had awoke— God’s word— was the first of anything— Ever made, spoken or heard. [Chorus] And to this day—that holy, holy sound— Still is in the air—traveling all around. For God’s word never returns void— And it’s a sound—the world will never be able to avoid. And God said, “Let there be light—and the darkness had to flee— And that light today—still reaches you and me. [Verse 2] Then came the waters and the seas— Then land—covered with deserts, mountains and trees. Then God hung the Sun and Moon and every star— And you can still see them—no matter where you are. Then God looked down—and what He didn’t find— Were all the animals and creatures—two of every kind. Then when God thought the world might be—all it needed to be— That’s when He thought of you and me. [Bridge] So to think—when God was lonely—and all His creation didn’t His loneliness fill— He chose you and me—as part of His perfect will. Sooooo—have you ever considered how everything—might have turned out to be— If our Heavenly Father—hadn’t thought of you and me? [Verse 3] So have you ever wondered how the world could have gotten along just fine— With only God and His creation divine. Cause when the Lord thought of you and me— He could also already see—His Son at Mount Calvary. He could have stopped—what would come to be— If He had only never thought—of you and me. [Final Chorus] And to this day—that was not His perfect plan— To be separated forever—from every child, woman, and man. For God chose to be in fellowship with everyone and all— All who believe in Him—and answer His call. For when God said, “Let there be light—and the darkness had to flee— That was Salvation’s light—that still today—still reaches down—to save you and me. Soooo—when the Lord thought of you and me— He could also already see—His Son at Mount Calvary. He could have stopped—what would come to be— If He had only never thought—of you and me But Jesus still came— To bear our sin and shame— And hanging on that tree— Oh bless the name of Jesus— He thought—of you and me!!

He Thought Of You And Me

Have you ever stood beneath a clear night sky and felt wonderfully small? The stars seem endless. The distances are beyond anything we can imagine. And somewhere beneath that vastness stands one person, carrying ordinary worries, asking whether their life matters.

Open Genesis 1 and read its first words: “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth” (Genesis 1:1, KJV). Before there were oceans, trees, birds, or human voices, God was. Creation did not begin with a committee, a struggle for power, or an accident beyond His knowledge. Scripture presents a God who speaks, and what He commands comes to be.

Then notice the change in Genesis 1:26–27. Human beings are created in God's image. That does not make us gods, and it does not mean we are the center of the universe. It means human life bears a dignity and responsibility that the rest of creation does not bear in the same way.

Does that matter to someone who feels overlooked? Absolutely. Your value is not measured by how much money you make, how many people know your name, how strong your body feels, or whether others have treated you with respect. You were made by God, and your life is not disposable.

Psalm 8 asks, “What is man, that thou art mindful of him?” (Psalm 8:4, KJV). It is a question of wonder, not a claim that God needed human company. God is eternally complete in Himself. Creation is an expression of His will and goodness, not a remedy for loneliness.

And the story does not stop at creation. The same Bible tells us that humanity fell into sin and that God sent His Son to redeem sinners. Read John 1:1–14. The eternal Word through whom all things were made entered the world He created. The wonder of the stars leads us toward an even greater wonder: the Creator came near in Jesus Christ.

Would you be willing to do something simple tonight? Look up at the sky if you can. Read Psalm 8 slowly. Thank God for the gift of life, then bring Him the question you may have been afraid to ask: Do You see me? Let His Word, rather than your circumstances, shape the answer.

Let's pray. Creator and Father, teach us to marvel at Your power without forgetting Your care. For those who feel insignificant or unseen, anchor their worth in Your truth. Draw them to Jesus, the eternal Word made flesh, and help them live with gratitude and purpose. Amen.

Our desire at UnrelentingJesus is that the wonder of creation leads you to worship the Creator and trust His Son. We will be praying for you.
