Lyrics
A Victor’s Song
Read together: 2 Corinthians 12:7–10; Romans 8:31–39; Revelation 21:1–5
Have you ever heard someone say, “You're going to make it,” when you weren't sure you had enough strength left for the next hour?
Sometimes encouragement comes from people who love us, but they cannot feel the weight we are carrying. They do not know what it costs just to get up, to breathe through pain, or to face another day that looks exactly like yesterday. If that sounds familiar, please know that the Bible does not ask you to pretend suffering is easy.
Paul pleaded with the Lord three times for his affliction to be taken away. Read 2 Corinthians 12:7–10. The answer he received was not the removal he had asked for. It was Christ's assurance that His grace was sufficient and His strength was made perfect in weakness. That is not a command to enjoy suffering. It is a promise that weakness does not put you beyond the reach of Jesus.
Maybe you are waiting to hear a victory song while all you can hear is the struggle. There is room to tell God exactly that. The Psalms are full of people crying out from places of fear and exhaustion. And Romans 8 does not say believers will never face hardship; it says hardship cannot separate those who belong to Christ from His love.
Would you be willing to try something today? Instead of asking yourself to feel victorious, ask Jesus for enough grace for the next faithful step. Call someone you trust if you need help. Let another believer pray with you. Rest if your body needs rest. Faithfulness can look very quiet.
A moment to respond: Read Romans 8:35–39 aloud. Notice what the passage names—trouble, danger, suffering—and what it says none of those things can do. Then tell the Lord where you most need His sustaining grace.
Let's pray: Jesus, You know the battles nobody else sees. Meet the exhausted person reading this. Give courage for the next step, wise people to stand beside them, and assurance that Your love has not loosened its hold. Where healing or relief is needed, we ask for Your mercy; where the road remains hard, sustain us with Your grace. Amen.
Our desire at UnrelentingJesus is not to tell you that your pain is small. It is to remind you that Jesus is greater, and that you do not have to carry today's burden without Him.
